How to configure your Wi-Fi



Logging in to the wireless router

Step 1 To access the configuration page of the wireless router, open a Web browser such as Internet Explorer (IE) and enter http://192.168.0.1 (IP address of the wireless router) in the address bar.

Step 2 Enter admin in the Username field and leave the password blank by default.

Step 3 Click Login to log in to the Web page.



Setup wizard

You can run the setup wizard in the Quick Setup page to quickly set up your wireless router.

Choose Wizard > Quick Setup and the first page of the wizard appears



Click Setup Wizard. In this page, Enale WAN, Connection Type, and Service Type are already configured and cannot be modified. The default connection type is PPPoE.

IP Version You can select IPv4, IPv6, or IPv4&6.
PPPoE Account It is the user name for log in through PPPoE.
PPPoE Password It is the password for log in through PPPoE.
Confirm Password Enter the PPPoE password again.
MTU Set the maximum transmission unit (MTU). It should be in the range of 616—1492.
Aunthentication
  • AlwaysOn: Select it if you pay for Internet access monthly.
  • OnDemand: Select it if you pay for Internet access by time, as it effectively saves the expense.
  • Manual: If you select it, you need to manually set dialup connection after startup.
Use Static IP Address If you select this check box, you need to set a static IP Address for PPPoE connection.

Configuration of Dynamic Account



Step1 Select the IP Version [IPv4 & IPv6]

Step2 Key In the PPPoE Username (Provided by your Internet Service Provider)

Step3 Key In the PPPoE Password (Provided by your Internet Service Provider)

Step4 Confirm the PPPoE Password (Same Password Key to be key in)

Step5 Click Apply at the bottom of the page.


Configuration of Static Account



Step1 Select the IP Version [IPv4 & IPv6]

Step2 Key In the PPPoE Username (Provided by your Internet Service Provider)

Step3 Key In the PPPoE Password (Provided by your Internet Service Provider)

Step4 Confirm the PPPoE Password (Same Password Key to be key in)

Step5 Click the checkbox to Enable Static IP

Step6 Key In the Static IP Address (Provided by your Internet Service Provider)

Step7 Click Apply at the bottom of the page.



After setting, click Next to proceed.

Enable Wireless Enable or disable wireless.
SSID Enter the SSID of the wireless router.
Wireless Mode You can select 802.11BGN, 802.11B, or 802.11BG.
Bandwidth You can select 40 MHz or 20 MHz.


After setting, click Next to proceed.

Wireless Security Enable or disable wireless security. If you select Disable, click Next to proceed to the next page.
Aunthentication
  • Open System: It applies WEP without authentication, so anyone can join the network. This mode is insecure.
  • Shared Key: Correct password is required for authentication.
  • WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK are much securer, since WPA has some improvements over WEP.
WEP encryption Select the encryption length and set a key accordingly.
WPA encryption Select the key type and set the pre-shared key.


If the Aunthentication is set to WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, the page is shown as above.



After setting, click Next to proceed.

Verify that the set information is correct and then click Submit to save the settiings. To modify the sattings in the previous pages, click Back.

When the settings are saved and become effective, the setup wizard page displays the settings you have just configured.
